The Halifax end
Casino Nova Scotia Halifax by the clock
Whether the drive starts or ends at 1983 Upper Water St, the hour of arrival matters more here than anywhere on the road. The tool below shows what is dealing at the hour you pick.

Live tables from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m.
On the main floor in Halifax, live tables deal every day from 2 p.m. until 3 a.m. The regular games are Blackjack, Roulette, Free Bet Blackjack and Ultimate Texas Hold'Em. Let it Ride joins them on Fridays and Saturdays. Which games run, and at what minimums, depends on how busy the floor is.
As of April 2025 the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation counted 28 table games and 587 slot machines in Halifax. Sydney, at the far end of Highway 4, counted 280 slot machines and not one table game. Anyone who wants a dealer has to plan for this end of the road.
After dark: high limits and poker
Higher table limits apply in the high-limit area, a separate room. Its doors open daily at 5 p.m. and close at 4 a.m. On offer are Ruyi Baccarat, Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold'Em and Roulette. Someone arriving late can still play here once the main floor tables stop at 3 a.m.
Halifax is the only place with poker, dealt Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. The tables offer Pot-Limit Omaha and No Limit Texas Hold'Em. With no poker room in Sydney, the cards stay at this end of the drive. Anyone reaching the waterfront on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday will find no game running.

A stage inside the casino
The Bruce Guthro Theatre sits inside the Halifax casino and seats up to 650 people theatre-style. Every event there is 19+.
Ticketmaster handles tickets, and the box office begins serving customers 60 minutes ahead of each show; it accepts debit, Amex, MasterCard and Visa, but not cash. Bags and backpacks are not allowed in, except for a small clutch or a clear bag. The theatre, like the other entertainment venues at the casinos, is completely smoke-free, with cannabis, e-cigarettes and vaping included.
Food, parking and screens
Two restaurants share the building: 3Sixty, a restaurant and lounge, and May Garden, a Chinese restaurant. Their hours are not printed on the casino page. Drivers coming in off Highway 118 can leave the car in the paid parking on site, though the rate is not published.
Electronic tables offer $3 Craps and $5 Blackjack. The slot floor runs on hours that are not printed anywhere, and holiday openings are not printed either. A call to 902-425-7777 before setting out settles both.
